The new 800,000 sq ft purpose-built campus of TDConnex in Xiamen, China, is focused on significantly boosting Metal Injection Moulding – MIM capacity and the production of millions of high-precision micro-components for the most demanding technology innovators in the world.

The opening of the micro-precision Xiamen 6 factory in China is in accordance with the strategic objective of developing manufacturing capabilities from TDConnex for tomorrow’s supply chain. The company today happens to support the world’s leading technology customers in operations throughout China and Singapore as well as India, with over 50 manufacturing capabilities fully integrated into one highly automated, large-scale production fabric – what TDConnex terms as hyperscale manufacturing.

It is well to be noted that Xiamen 6 is one of the largest single MIM capacity expansions when it comes to the precision-manufacturing industry in recent years. The facility presents next-generation MIM production lines in terms of the smallest, most intricate, and high-strength metal parts utilised in premium consumer electronics.

The company now has one of the biggest dedicated MIM manufacturing footprints in the world, catering to the technology industry, complemented by the existing MIM capacity of TDConnex at its adjacent Xiamen campus.

Apparently, the new factory is located at No. 6 Dingshan East Road, Dongfu Street, Haicang District, Xiamen City, next to the existing Xiamen campus of TDConnex and is designed to share manufacturing capabilities as well as engineering know-how throughout the company’s regular operations.

The integrated footprint allows for a quicker ramp and greater depth of capability transfer between sites, as well as tighter operational coordination so as to support the global customer base of TDConnex.

Xiamen 6 was opened in a close partnership with the Haitou Group along with the backing of Xiamen City as well as Fujian provincial authorities, whose enduring collaboration with TDConnex has been crucial in growing the Xiamen footprint of the company over the past decade.
