DEME Wins Turbine Installation Contract for Zeevonk Project
DEME has secured a contract to transport and install 69 wind turbines for the first phase of the Zeevonk project in the Netherlands. The work will be carried out by Norse Energi, DEME’s next-generation jack-up vessel built for offshore transport and installation. The award follows a contract DEME secured in July 2026 to install the project’s foundations, expanding its involvement in the development. Zeevonk is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners through Energy Investment Fund I, and is planned to have around 1 GW of installed capacity.

Offshore Wind Project in the Dutch North Sea

The site is located in the Dutch North Sea, between 63 and 84 kilometres from Bergen aan Zee. The development is expected to contribute to the Netherlands’ plans to expand offshore wind capacity and advance its energy transition goals.

Mobilisation is scheduled to begin in 2028, with offshore operations expected to start shortly afterwards. The project is anticipated to be completed in 2029, with DEME deploying Norse Energi for the turbine installation work.

DEME Expands Its Role in Zeevonk

Martin Degen, Business Unit Director WTG and O&M at DEME, said, “Following the foundation installation award earlier this summer, this contract further expands DEME’s role in the delivery of the Zeevonk wind farm. It also demonstrates how our next-generation vessels support customers in delivering offshore wind projects safely and efficiently. More broadly, DEME’s versatile fleet and wide- ranging capabilities enable us to support multiple scopes across the offshore wind farm lifecycle, from project development through installation and commissioning. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in delivering this landmark renewable energy project.”

Contract Strengthens DEME’s European Market Position

The contract strengthens DEME’s involvement in a major Dutch renewable energy development and its position in the European market. The Zeevonk project remains subject to a final investment decision. The turbine installation award follows the earlier foundation contract and adds another phase of work to DEME’s role in delivering the Zeevonk offshore wind farm.
