Besins Healthcare, which is a global pharmaceutical company dedicated to hormonal health, announced on July 2, 2026, the acquisition of UniD Manufacturing, a Belgian pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company having over 20 years of established expertise as far as long-acting drug delivery tech manufacturing are concerned.
This acquisition combines two very compatible areas. Besins Healthcare has a long history of specialized expertise when it comes to hormone therapies for both women’s and men’s health, with treatments including Estrogel®/Oestrogel® – estradiol 2 for women and Utrogestan®3 micronized progesterone as well as Androgel®/Testogel®4 – testosterone for men.
UniD provides sophisticated features in technologies that may contribute to more personalized, less commonly administered therapies.
UniD is one of the few organizations in the world to work with the cutting-edge polymer technology that is utilized in the creation and production of complex long-acting delivery systems, including implants and vaginal rings.
In its advent to make progress on long-acting drug delivery tech manufacturing, Besins Healthcare will acquire the UniD site in Seraing, Belgium, and 52 highly skilled professionals are going to join the company. In this latest chapter, UniD Manufacturing will be changed to Besins Healthcare PharmTech and will eventually evolve into a center of excellence devoted to innovation and future growth projects. In the short term, UniD is going to keep running as usual and will continue to provide services to its current customers with the same level of competence and dedication.
