In order to spread its manufacturing footprint across Europe, Eaton, the Intelligent power management company, confirmed September 25, 2026, that it has entered into an agreement to purchase COL Group from Oaktree’s Power Opportunities strategy. Apparently, COL Group is a leading supplier of medium-voltage electrical distribution solutions, which includes the likes of SF₆-free switchgear, grid automation technologies as well as modular power systems.
It is well to be noted that the acquisition will strengthen the power distribution capabilities and manufacturing footprint across Europe, increasing its ability to serve rising consumer demand throughout the data center and utility markets.
Says the president, EMEA Region, Corporate and Electrical Sector for Eaton, Omar Zaire, “COL Group brings complementary technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and engineering expertise that will further strengthen Eaton’s European power distribution platform. The acquisition will enhance our ability to support utility and data center customers’ increasing need for resilient, sustainable power infrastructure and integrated grid-to-chip power solutions.”
The transaction terms indicate that Eaton will take over COL Group for an enterprise value of €810 million. Notably, COL Group has predicted sales of €250 million by 2027.
COL Group is an industrial group dedicated to the development of electrical power distribution solutions with more than 100 years of experience. The company employs roughly 400 people and has sites located across Turin, Milan, and Bergamo, as well as Catania, Italy.
This transaction will likely close in Q1 of 2027, subject to the standard closing conditions and regulatory authorizations.
