$262m Manufacturing Deal from Samsung Biologics Announced

Samsung Biologics, which is an international contract development and manufacturing organization – CDMO has gone ahead and announced a deal with an unnamed pharmaceutical company from Europe. As per the $262m manufacturing deal from Samsung Biologics, production is going to take place at Samsung’s manufacturing plant located in Songdo, South Korea.

It is well to be noted that the this $262m manufacturing deal from Samsung Biologics takes the total contract value of Samsung to more than $21.9 billion, according to the company.

Notably, Songdo still hosts the largest biomanufacturing operations of the company, with five plants offering it 785 kL of capacity. The company also has a site located in Rockville, Maryland, which it purchased in March 2026 from GSK so as to create its first manufacturing footprint in the US.

The company states that this new manufacturing contract demonstrates the ability of Samsung Biologics to quickly fill manufacturing capacity and also supports the long-term growth strategy of the company in order to expand its portfolio along with geographic presence.

So as to further support those goals, the company plans to expand Bio Campus II, which will achieve a total capacity of 720 kL—up from the existing 180 kL—when it’s finished in 2032. The company also has land secured as far as Bio Campus III is concerned, which it says will be utilized for next-generation modalities.
