Samsung Electronics announced on August 13, 2026, the completion of a new Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning – HVAC manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, managed by FläktGroup, which is a Samsung company, thereby bolstering Samsung’s efforts to break into the rapidly expanding AI data center cooling and HVAC market segments in India as well as throughout Asia-Pacific.
The Pune facility is FläktGroup’s first new manufacturing facility to go fully operational since Samsung Electronics acquired the global HVAC specialist in November 2025. It marks a significant turning point in the merger of the two companies and their plan to broaden the global HVAC business of Samsung.
Situated strategically nearby Mumbai and other key logistics infrastructure, the plant will enable faster delivery of HVAC solutions to customers not just in India but throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
An event was held at the new facility on August 12 with Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliance – DA Business, David Dorney, CEO, FläktGroup, executives from both organizations, and representatives from major customers. The event was attended by more than 100 people.
According to the Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliance at DA Business, Cheolgi Kim, “The completion of the production line in Pune, India, marks a significant milestone in expanding our HVAC supply beyond India to the broader Asia-Pacific region. By combining Samsung’s AI and platform technologies with FläktGroup’s HVAC expertise, we will deliver exceptional value to a diverse range of customers, including AI data centers.”
The new HVAC manufacturing facility in Pune, comprising the production line and office as well as auxiliary facilities, occupies an area of about 13,826 square meters. The facility has moved from installing equipment to mass production within just six months. FläktGroup aims to gradually ramp up production to 6,500 HVAC units per year.
The Pune plant will produce a broad range of FläktGroup solutions, including its flagship Air Handling Units – AHUs, Fan Wall Units – FWUs and Computer Air Handlers – CRAHs for AI data centers as well as other critical infrastructure.
AHUs are widely deployed in data centers and large commercial buildings and are used to cool indoor spaces with chilled water, assisting in maintaining air quality. FWUs use a number of high-capacity fans to effectively eliminate heat from server settings, while CRAHs offer precision temperature, humidity, and air quality management when it comes to mission-critical IT equipment.
It is well to be noted that the new facility is an extension of FläktGroup’s plants in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Combined, its Greater Noida and Pune operations will enhance local manufacturing, improve response times to clients, and contribute to the mission of Samsung to build a more powerful HVAC business in India, for India as well as the entire Asia-Pacific region. FläktGroup’s specialized knowledge in HVAC and critical cooling, combined with Samsung’s AI and technology expertise, global reach, and scale, will allow the companies to speed up the development and delivery of next-generation cooling solutions when it comes to AI data centers as well as other high-growth infrastructure industries.
