Deal to Boost Manufacturing AI Market in Korea and Europe

Naver Cloud, along with the top AI company from France, Mistral AI, entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement to collaboratively target the manufacturing AI market in Korea and Europe. Both companies confirmed on July 8, 2026.

The deal is significant since it is the first time that major technology firms from Asia and Europe have joined forces in order to build an autonomous sovereign AI business niche within the AI market that is being transformed around the U.S. big tech companies.

It is well to be noted that the two companies already belong to the Nemotron alliance, which has been created by Nvidia along with leading global companies, and apparently share the same technological ecosystem. With this in consideration, they will look for a joint business centered around the manufacturing industry, in which they anticipate the greatest synergies. Their primary focus will be on global manufacturing businesses with sovereign AI solutions, intended for data sovereignty and the industrial nature of European and Asian manufacturing sites, rather than U.S.-centric general-purpose AI.

Immediately after entering into the contract to target manufacturing AI market in Korea and Europe, the two companies held a collaborative workshop alongside key technologists at Naver’s second headquarters, 1784, and started setting up plans for business services in manufacturing as well as an execution roadmap. They will keep up with their R&D collaboration and technology discussions among researchers to jointly determine AI tasks in industrial environments and establish an ethical process of verification along with progress in the field.

Interestingly, Mistral AI is a company that comes with proven AI skills rooted in manufacturing in the global market via partnerships with leading European manufacturing corporations like Airbus and BMW as well as ASML. The two companies are considering merging their strengths in order to jointly bring trustworthy AI solutions to the global marketplace, which can be applied directly on the real manufacturing floor space.

As part of this cooperation, both companies will also collaborate in the domestic business. Full-stack offerings expected to be purchased from Naver Cloud consist of the latest models and platforms from Mistral AI. Mistral AI’s field-dedicated engineers – FDE will also be assigned directly to domestic client locations in order to offer technical assistance and resolve any issues.

The first task specifically is to transfer validated manufacturing AI usage scenarios developed by Mistral AI on European factory floors, such as real-time quality anomaly detection and component selection optimization techniques, to the Korean manufacturing context. By doing so, they intend to help domestic manufacturing companies efficiently utilize global-level manufacturing AI technologies in an environment of safety in which standard data is not disclosed externally.

According to the CEO of Naver Cloud, Kim Yu-won, “This partnership is practical business cooperation that combines Mistral AI’s manufacturing-specialized technology, proven in global markets, with Naver Cloud’s stable infrastructure,” adding, “We will build successful references domestically and, based on that, continue to identify joint business opportunities in the global sovereign AI market.”

Remarks APAC head of Mistral AI, Jeff Soon,”Naver Cloud is the optimal partner to realize the manufacturing AI business together,” adding, “By combining Mistral AI’s know-how accumulated on European factory floors with Naver Cloud’s solid infrastructure, we will provide practical support for the AI transition of global manufacturing corporations, including those in Korea.”
